Are you Testuya Takahashi's strongest soldier just like me? Don't know Japanese or have an ancient ass phone with software that was taken off marketplaces before some here were even born?

Well guess what!

After being genuinely lost media for almost 20 years until it was found just last year, Xenosaga: Pied Piper is being brought to Switch and Steam by G-MODE, a Japanese company that specializes in porting old mobile games to PC and more modern consoles for everyone to enjoy in the present day (present time!). Unfortunately, there's no indication that there will be an official English translation, however, thanks to being on Steam already extant translation efforts will likely now actually be easier to get out to English speaking fans since the translators won't have to worry about finding a way to get the original game running on modern PC hardware themselves and can just patch the Steam release!



Go wishlist to show Bandai Namco that there's still plenty of love for Xenosaga over here in the West and that mayhaps modern ports of the main trilogy wouldn't do so bad. Shit I wouldn't even mind remakes to iron out the legit edges those games have and if you add Xenoblade connections they WILL sell like hotcakes

Aspyr is the main company porting old games to modern PCs in the west, and after doing some research into it not only are they full of controversies due to terrible ports, promises that never were delivered upon, and massive delays, but they are also staffed mostly by HR/PR with like two developers listed on their whole LinkedIn! Makes sense!

Makes sense!

I haven't played any of their ports myself, but from what I've seen, G-MODE is pretty legit. They were directly involved in a lot of those Japanese Java phone game releases back in the day, and have released dozens of ports of theirs and other companies' releases over the past few years. There are a bunch of nearly-lost old spinoffs and ports from series like Shin Megami Tensei/Persona and Armored Core that have been preserved thanks to them! Only a few of them have gotten (unofficial) English translations, but it's far better than nothing.

S&box, the spiritual successor to Garry's Mod, is finally out! This doesn't seem to require subscribing to stuff on the workshop either, you just select things in the game itself. However, there seem to be some issues. We knew it wasn't going to be like GMod, and more closely resemble Roblox, with creators being able to sell add-ons and maps and stuff, but having it priced then everything costing money leaves a sour taste in the mouth of many. But beyond that, it seems most of the currently available content is AI slop, and the game itself is very poorly optimised. Linux support seems to terrible or non-existent. We will have to see how this develops...

Highly recommend the Gunvolt games, especially if you're a a fan of Mega Man- ESPECIALLY the Mega Man Zero games
