Deluoodecraft?

It's been an idea for a while to have a Minecraft server for the forum, and many have expressed interest. I'm down to pay for the server, and we can start whenever you guys want, but I would like to know if you guys would want to play modded or vanilla!

We'll probably be running bukkit or something to allow users with cracked versions to join while keeping unique usernames (using AuthMe Reloaded). But beyond that, would you want to run mods on it? If so which?

I'm personally more partial to vanilla, but Deluoode is a democratic server (pffft yeah, right ) so we'll have it up to a poll. Lets say we'll run this until 0000 UTC on Sunday. Feel free to discuss and debate as you see fit!

Modded. Modded pls. I love Minecraft as is but there's only so much you can do in a vanilla survival world. I have a bunch I want to add but if we can only have 1 PLEASE let it be the Create mod, it's what should've been added to vanilla Minecraft eons ago. Legit just base gameplay on steroids and I mean, TRAINS man, TRAINS.

Oh also, Fossils and Archeology would be nice too. Why? Dinosaurs.

I agree with Parz. I think we way run out of things to do fairly quick if we play vanilla, so adding mods would add a lot of longevity to the server. Maybe we could hold off on mods until we beat the ender dragon, to keep the "vanilla experience" and still have a lot to have fun with later on?

Also, what version would the server be running? Some mods could become unavailable depending on which version.

I think a modded server has more potential, though from my experience, the vanilla servers I've played on have generally stayed active for longer than the modded ones. Still, I'm voting for modded.

I am 100% onboard. I have no problem doing mods but with the caveat that I personally am not interested in doing 'tism craft type shit. By that I mean I'd rather not have the focus be a bunch of automation/factorio type stuff. Of course, I'm only one goy here, so if that's what everyone else wants it's fine by me. Vanilla does get boring fast unless you invent stuff to do, but maybe we could channel some of that 2011 energy necessary for that sort of thing.

I'm not really a huge MC guy, but with a game like MC there must be so many cool mods that I think I'll lean towards modded even if I can't really suggest or recommend anything myself. I really like Aeon's suggestion of starting vanilla and beating the Ender Dragon though! That could be a fun meetup for the Derby potentially, then after that we can add the mods that people want.

Assuming this was going to be a long-standing endeavor, we would (I presume) start out with just a standard MC world, maybe with a quality seed if anyone knows one. There are convoluted ways to integrated parts of worlds into other worlds but I'm unfamiliar with any of that methodology.
