Was this the choice of Steins;Gate?!
In 2022 I was looking for new anime to watch, and Steins;Gate seemed cool. It was also highly rated and propped up as a must watch! As I was looking at it, I saw it was a adaptation of a visual novel. I thought: "That's interesting. Let me see if it's on Steam." Sure enough it was. And as I was looking at it, I got insane deja vu. "Wait a minute. I've seen this art style before!" Then I remembered why this seemed so familiar.
I don't know how long ago. But when I was first gaming on PC I came across Steins;Gate's steam page. I thought its premise and character designs were cool. But then I thought. "Hold on, you don't play this game? You read it? That's kind of lame." And I clicked away.
Coming back to 2022. I bought it on sale decided to boot it up. Then it literally changed my life. It was my first visual novel ever. And never before had I been so engrossed in a story (Honestly, I still haven't till this day). I was so immersed with it's phone mechanic. Constantly checking emails to see if any came in secretly or changed. I would call characters at random intervals to see if they picked up. Customizing the ringtones and wallpapers. Planting myself as THE mad scientist Okabe Rintaro. I felt what he felt and vice versa.
I was heavily intrigued by its plot. But even more so with its characters. Okabe was very relatable and easy to put myself in his shoes. And all the other characters felt real and believable. And we all know how I feel about Mayuri from the heroines topic. ( 〃▽〃)
Personally, I think it might be fate that lead me to Steins;Gate. And in turn SciADV as a whole. Thanks to it, I've been able to make so many cool new friends. Talk to cool people, do cool things, express my love for this series, and be apart of a forum like Deluoode. I wouldn't be here without Parzival. Then Mays telling me to hop on Deluoode. And finally Nono giving me the push to jump in!
