Board Games online thread

[rancher]

Hello! Idea: weekly board game nights (night meaning, night in asia or europe)

I am something of a board game nerd and think that board game-style games have a place in the world of online gaming.

recently purchased a premium membership to BoardGameArena which opens up a whole world of "modern" board games for us if we wish to play any (a premium member can host a private lobby for any game on the platform) ... also recommend Boardspace for many "abstract games" (free as in free beer, free speech, open source) , however these are largely 2 player so they would be best played in tournament formats

having dedicated boardgame nights (whether we play on special site, or use tabletop simulator) in conjunction with a mumble call could be a lot of fun. If people also don't have any ideas of what games to try, I can suggest some to get us started with, so people can check out rules or strategy before we play the games

Because I most recently played Ticket to Ride with @Dweeeb and we had fun, I'd like to propose that as a first "Deluoode Board Game" night game. Pretty simple rules but also plenty of strategy going on.
