SOX (Save Our X-pression!)

My fellow Deluooders. I like to view this forum as a safe haven from all the political shitflinging and 24/7 vomit stream of awful news and e-celeb bullshit that inundates the rest of the web. So, while I normally wouldn't post about something like this, I think what it pertains to affects us all regardless of political alignment or anything else of the sort.

Recently, a Vtuber out of Britain called Mimi Yanagi was arrested, purely for possessing and creating works of art of her own loli avatar character that were NSFW. All of her devices were seized, and she's been forced to move to a new account where's she's also been forced to dox herself and is being forced to only make SFW art as conditions of her bail. This account will be rigorously monitored by British authorities, and if she dares make and post art that the state does not like, she will be taken back into custody.
She remains under investigation and faces jail time if found "guilty" of commissioning and making art.
I make this post because I think every user on here can, regardless of any and all differences in opinion, political or otherwise, agree that this is complete and utter vile horseshit. The giant, steaming hot, freshly shat out boulder of dino shit cherry on top of a mountain of shit that's been being built up by governments, international organizations, and corporations working in tandem over the past several years with the express goal of limiting, punishing, and ultimately completely erasing any and all free artistic expression in the Western world and beyond.
This is a forum for otaku by otaku. On an internet that was primarily settled by otaku in the first place for the express purpose of discussing and sharing our interests that were derided by the outside world and we've had to watch as that world invades and criminalizes the right to express oneself artistically however they please.
I don't know what, if anything, can be done- but I think if anything the otaku of the world should try to put their heads together to try to figure something out. This can't be allowed to continue. People's rights are being trampled on in the name of protecting children while these very same governments let child rape gangs run around with slaps on the wrists at most and partook and probably still do partake of the same crimes themselves on a much larger scale if the Epstein revelations are any indication.
The existence of Deluoode itself is a good start. I almost wonder if maybe we could branch out using fediverse tech to say, have our own real Twipo as well- a Twitter-like that WON'T hand over your information to authorities that want to arrest you for literal thought crimes.
Regardless, the name of this thread is my primary proposal. I'm sure many of you have seen if not read Shimoneta. Taking place in the dystopian future of 2030 where any and all pornographic material, lewd innuendo, jokes, and any and all such manner of speech and artistic expression have been outlawed. Everyone is even made to wear devices called Peace Makers which monitor them to ensure they don't breach these laws and instantly detect if they do so they can immediately be arrested for thought crime. You follow the escapades of SOX- an "ero-terrorist" group formed by a bunch of horny high schoolers for the purpose of spreading pornographic material under the cover of panties to stick it to the puritanical system.
Shimoneta is primarily a comedy, it doesn't take itself seriously, but this is a serious matter. People's lives are being ruined for daring to make art. We've had to watch as corporate giants that are basically in charge of financial transactions like Visa and Mastercard throttle people's right to freely exchange goods and art because of their own distaste, as people's livelihoods and lifelines and just opportunity to receive support get shut down by Patreon and Paypal, as governments force their citizens to hand over their "papers, please" if they want to MAYBE be allowed to view and jerk it to whatever art they damn well please, and as even states within the supposedly free Unites States of America begin their descent down the path to denying their citizens the rights to freedom of expression and speech their forefathers sacrificed life and limb to ensure and enshrine!
I've been saying for years now that the world needs SOX now more than ever, and that they'll be just as necessary in real life 2030 as they are in the 2030 of Shimoneta. I think it's time to stop just saying that and actually get to work.
As such, I'm asking for and hoping to receive the aid of my fellow Deluooders and otaku worldwide. This isn't just something that's affecting the British or Americans, but Australians and Germans and the Japanese- all over the world the Committee of 300 is coming for our rights.
We could work to make a website explaining not just the Mimi case but others over the years, shining more light on the actions of corporate giants like Visa or Paypal, maybe have a forum or fediverse alternative for people to discuss these issues on, hell we could create posters for people to print with instructions for how to print in ways that will help avoid tracking to literally pull some SOX type shit- imagine streets across the UK or Australia or Texas plastered with naked lolis spreading their legs as a giant fuck you to these tyrannical fucks, with a big S O X printed beneath so they can know just who's telling them to eat shit- all organized on this hypothetical website/forum/fedi. The possibilities are endless, and maybe it could all be for nought. Maybe there's nothing a bunch of otaku can do to change the tidal wave of corporate and state fuckery, but I'm tired of no one even trying, or even talking about doing anything.
So, if you've read all this, thank you. Maybe I'm just an angry, idealistic nerd, but if you agree with my ideals and want to do something about all this, well, this thread is here. Speak up.
