Started reminiscing over one of my favorite folk/country artists of all time, John Edmond. John is originally from the nation of Rhodesia, what is now Zimbabwe in the dreaded year 2026. His most famous album, Troopiesongs, was released in 1976 when the Rhodesian bushwar was still in full swing. Here now, 50 years after its original release, there is something especially melancholy for me about listening to this stuff. A small selection of some of my favorites:

A couple of these are from a more recent album, All Time Rhodesian Evergreens, released in 1999. John's been active in music since he was a kid, and still is to this day even in his seriously advanced age. There's not many artists out there that I seriously get into, let alone really like all of their discography, so John's pretty special to me. I would post a picture of my Troopiesongs CD that he actually signed, but it has my real name on it...

Been hooked on this song all year. I love Kana Hanazawa. (˶◜ᵕ◝˶)

How about some depressive gothic/coldwave doom that really sounds like what it feels like to live in modern France?

PS: @Maypews, could you please tweak the media tag to also add an hyperlink underneath the video? Shit is unusable with uBlock here.
