SUMMARY OF EVENTS: Incident took place just after 8:15 PM on the evening of July 15th, 2026. Metropolitan PD officers responded to a series of frantic calls from witnesses outside of the GIGANTES concert venue. The venue was to host the band PHANTASM for the first night of their comeback tour, and said witnesses were lined up outside the building's entrance when the incident took place.
General witness testimony is as follows: Just after 8:15, a vehicle skidded to a stop just in front of the GIGANTES venue's front entrance. Its windows were rolled down, and passengers in both the front and back seats were leaned out of the vehicle proper. The occupants brandished firearms, and began to open fire into the crowd of bystanders outside the venue. Witnesses report that the gunfire was automatic in nature, and shell casings collected as evidence from the scene suggest the assailants were armed with automatic submachine guns in caliber 9x19.
Testimonies are disarrayed and conflicting, but it is established that the whole encounter lasted no longer than ten seconds. Once the attackers had emptied their weapons, the vehicle sped down the road, and disappeared from view. As it was dark out, reliable descriptions of the assailants are few and far between. A few consistent details:
1) The gunman in the front seat was covered head to toe in merchandise from Spain's national football team, and was sporting sunglasses and slicked back blonde hair.
2) The gunman in the rear seat, strangely enough, was in cosplay as Grani from the popular video game Arknights. Whether or not they were male or female couldn't be confirmed.
3) The driver was a blonde-haired female, described by one witness as "literally the hottest older sister I've ever seen holy fucking shit."
Once the chaos had subsided, witnesses that remained at the scene discovered the unfortunate victims of the attack: Two adult females were the only ones harmed, despite over ninety rounds of ammunition being fired.
Investigation by responding officers identified one Rimi Sakihata and one Yua Kusunoki. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Medical personnel counted 15 impacts and 18 impacts on Sakihata and Kusunoki respectively, and evaluated that life-saving treatment would've been extremely ineffective with even an instantaneous response time.
No motive has been established for the shootings at this time, nor have any of the involved assailants been identified. Further investigation required before conclusions can be drawn
