Assuming this was going to be a long-standing endeavor, we would (I presume) start out with just a standard MC world, maybe with a quality seed if anyone knows one. There are convoluted ways to integrated parts of worlds into other worlds but I'm unfamiliar with any of that methodology.

I'm with Nono on this, I think it'd be wiser to stick to a regular map with a good seed. Can't really build our stuff if it's already built for us. That being said, nothing stopping people from building the lab or Shibuya themselves.

1.11.2 was the last version I actually liked. Also I think creative mode would be more fun to dick around in if it's just going to be an occasional thing.

I was gonna close the poll, but we're at an impasse. We have a 50/50 split of vanilla vs modded. What should we do? Does one of the indifferents want to act as a tie breaker?

My suggestion: there's no reason we can't shitcan a world if it ends up being boring. If vanilla burns out after a week then we can trash it, or if the modded shit sucks or isn't as fun as people thought, we can also trash that. THAT BEING SAID, the mods are more work for both users and server admin to setup. so I suggest vanilla first, and if a majority of people find it unfun/boring after X amount of time (capstasher u can figure this part out idk) we can go to modded. vanilla should also "just work," whereas mods might cause unforeseen trouble.

What version of vanilla, idk. my personal server (which isn't up atm) has never been past 1.21 or so. Modern minecraft has lost the plot with updates for years now, but some of the most recent stuff does look kinda cool. I leave it to the rest to figure out what we want to do. I'm changing to the vannelin camp!

As per what Nono said, we shall run a week or two of vanilla and see how that works, and if people get bored we will switch things up. What do you say we do 1.14? If you guys prefer a different version let me know. I'll probably set it up tomorrow (monday) after work.

Okay, the server is now UP!
The ip is: deluoode.exaroton.me
We are running vanilla(ish, we need bukit to allow users with cracked clients to reserve their username) 1.11.2!
When you first join you will be prompted to make a password! You are on an invisible timer so don't make it too long.
Don't steal anyone elses user, if you could be so kind.
The server will spin up if anyone wants to join it at any time of day, and will go offline 10 minutes after the last user leaves. You may have to try to join it a couple times if its online as it takes some time warming up.

Other than that, have fun!

Well I think it's safe to say that Deluoodecraft has been a smashing success! Feel free to stop by whenever if you're interested in playing, server's always on though may need to rejoin a few times if you're starting it up. @capstasher you may want to rename the thread/modify the OP now that this seems to be a real thing we do, I'll definitely pin it if you do. Love everyone's houses so far and hope to see us build a thriving town or something in the server, the most fun I've had with MC in probably 14 years tbh. I'll need to take more screenshots and post them ITT...

Until then, I have a proposal for you fellas. What do you think about doing a collective effort to build a massive uma race track, and we each try to breed the best uma possible, then we hold a proper competition? Its a jockey and uma pair, so once your horse is locked in you cannot change it! If your uma dies, by natural causes or by sabotage, you are out of the competition! What do you guys think? I think we can call this the Deluoode Pretty Derby.
