PSA: It's Piss Easy to Play Mario Kart Wii Online

Something which seems to have escaped the notice of many that aren't diehard fans of the game is the fact that you can easily play online MKWii with other players now on PC. All you need is a device capable of running the game on Dolphin (my toaster with a FX-6300, DDR3 motherboard and a GPU worse than integrated could pull it off). That's it. No NAND dump or real console required, you can just download a pirated ISO and after like 5 minutes of setup you can play against other players with any controller, even the keyboard if you for some reason want to use that. This is thanks to a modpack known as Retro Rewind which uses different servers from Wiimmfi. The modpack comes with every Mario Kart track ever made from Super Mario Kart on the SNES up to Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS, and it even has some Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart Tour tracks included too. The mod tries to balance the game somewhat as well, making karts more viable as well as introducing the hybrid drift mode. This somewhat naturally attracts a more casual playerbase; most of the dirty tryhards like myself still play on CTGP. There are even some cheaters for that authentic 2009 Nintendo WFC experience. ;)
