Lab coats

Any of you guys wear lab coats on the regular? I've got one and it's pretty awesome-- and it was free, too. Everyone thinks you're someone important when you don one of these, and the pocket game is hard to beat.

Yeah a lab coat is my uniform at work basically. They give them to us so we look different from the kids, or something like that. The pockets are awesome, true that.
I bet I still have the lab coat from high school I wore when I watched S;G in 2011. :GeroSmug:

Part of the reason I got into Steins;Gate actually is because as a little kid, it was my dream to grow up to become a mad scientist! I used to wear a little lab coat my grandpa got me all the time, and my grandma stitched a little dinosaur patch on the front pocket just to really make it my own.

Alas, it's been a long time since then, and I live out in the sticks now so a lab coat wouldn't last long anyways.

I did get one in sixth form after I watched Steins;Gate for the first time (it just so happened one showed up in a charity shop in my small town) and that thing essentially saved me. The whole Okabe chuuni bit saved me. I was terribly depressed and anxious about the future as I would have to pick what I wanted to do in university and for the rest of my life, and felt that up to that point I coasted on luck, impostor syndrome settled in hard. But as I donned the lab coat, and started saying shit like "you couldn't even comprehend my genius, I am a mad scientist" on a daily basis I essentially tricked my brain into thinking it was true, and I stopped being depressed.
I still have the lab coat, but it doesn't fit me anymore. Maybe I should get another. I always do have a long coat of some sort when going outside though, so that acts as a more societally acceptable substitute.

when i did placement in schools my main subject i got to teach was science. had to wear a labcoat sometimes, taught elementary kids. during those times i rly did feel like a mad scientist



i bought my own labcoat recently because i cosplayed kurisu last year. also own okabes official green lab slippers lolllll :Ok:

I think lab coats are awesome, but I'd feel a little awkward wearing one on the regular outside of an actual lab. I made one myself out of an old bed sheet and some fabric scraps for a mad scientist Halloween costume once.

I got one from my university, its a dark blue instead of white though. The pockets are big enough to carry safety glasses in but i don't wear it that often.

i once bought a white lab coat for simple okabe cosplay for a big anime con i attended, in like 2012 or smth.
it was surprisingly comfy to walk around in all day lol

sadly i forgot it at a persons place that i dont talk to anymore, so i havent seen it in years
