SHIBUYA METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMET INCIDENT REPORT

REPORTING OFFICER: DETECTIVE SHINJO TAKESHI

SUMMARY OF EVENTS: Body of adult female was recovered floating adrift in reservoir adjacent to (I forgot if the park in Chaos;Head has a name or not but it's that one) park. Corpse was discovered just after 7 AM on the reporting date, by a pair of students from the nearby Suimei Academy who frequent the area for breakfast. They are not suspects in the case at this time.

Belongings still present with victim identified her as Nanami Nishijou, with identity being confirmed by her older brother. Cursory medical examination revealed the cause of death as a repeated series of knife wounds, several of which proved to be fatal. Over 28 individual wounds were counted, with incisions indicative of the usage of multiple different edged weapons. Multiple assailants seems most likely, but no direct evidence at the time of writing.

There exists a pertinent connection with the other two recent murders in Shibuya. Rimi Sakihata and Yua Kusunoki were both known to Nanami Nishijou, and were also frequent companions of her older brother. Takumi Nishijou is not considered a suspect at this time, but the surface similarities to past serial killing incidents is not to be taken for granted.

With no established motive or pattern to the killings thus far, drawing conclusions at this time is completely unproductive.

There's just no way it can be happening a third time. I can't believe that to be true, but do I really believe in coincedences after everything I saw with the Hekiho kids? I'm not sure... I wish my senior were still around at times like this.

I couldn't believe this shit. It didn't seem real. How could this be happening?

Inside of a week, I'd lost the girl I loved, a dear friend, and now my precious little sister.

I had prayed endlessly that I'd wake from the delusion. That this was all just a bad dream, like way back when. The past that seemed so distant, the past that had become little more than a faded memory, now stared me in the face just like it had almost twenty years ago.

I couldn't eat. I'd been sick nearly a dozen times already. It was senseless and evil, all of it! I thought this was over with! I thought I'd escaped this bullshit! What had they done? What had Rimi, Yua, and dear Nanami done to deserve this!?

I had no tears left to offer. Once again my entire body was paralyzed with fear. The gaze that had long since departed, now seemed to be on my back at every possible turn. I hadn't spun around in my chair like an idiot that way in years! But how couldn't I?

I couldn't believe there was nothing to it. Not after everything I'd been through. I'd seen what people were truly capable of, without so much as batting an eye. But why now? What could they possibly hope to gain by hurting the people I love? By doing this to me all over again!? I can't use those powers any more, so what...!?

Dammit! I didn't have any answers, and I didn't have a clue how to get any? Where do I even start? Do I really have to do all of this again?! The thought sent me right back to despair. How was I supposed to avenge the girls like this?

Just before I could completely melt down, my phone rang. With trembling hands, I yanked it out of my pocket, and clenched my teeth. The screen offered me a small consolation: Aoi Sena's name ran across the bottom of it. I answered in earnest.

"Sena..."

"Nishijou."

Her voice was as collected as ever. It almost pissed me off, but it was truthfully exactly what I needed. We'd already spoken briefly before, but since Nanami had died I'd barely even kept myself alive, much less contacted the outside world.

"Where are you? Your apartment, right?" she asked.

"Yeah..."

"Kozue and I are coming over. We're going to figure something out. Don't worry."

I hated how much what she said reminded me of New Gen. I thought my days of dealing with psychopathic killers and conspiracies (at least, first hand) were over with. But here I was again, and all I could do was meet it head on.

Nanami has died. There was nothing we could do. Ayase is alive at 1 HP. I highly recommend the remaining members of Nana nation recall your foremost enemies as we look ahead: KOZUECELS.
